A donation of $1,000 is requested per set. Half of the proceeds from the sale of this portfolio will benefit the Literacy Through Photography program at Peaslee Neighborhood Center in Over-the-Rhine, with the other half benefitting Mr. Heath's personal photography projects.

The image "Washington Park, Winter 1999, Over the Rhine" exemplifies the essence of Jimmy Heath's work. Typically, this park is often perceived by individuals outside the Over-the-Rhine community as dangerous, ugly, and a gathering place for homeless individuals. Juxtaposed against a background of Cincinnati's iconic Music Hall, which borders on the park, the Washington Park lithograph presents a striking political statement as it contrasts the poverty associated with the neighborhood with Music Hall, which presents high-art programs to mostly middle and upper-class audiences. The serenity of the winter scene depicted in the print contrasts dramatically with the public perception of the park. Washington Park is the largest greenspace in the inner-city neighborhood of Over-the-Rhine.
